VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT - PROJECT MANAGER
HomeNet South Asia is a regional network of organization working for women homebased workers in five South Asian countries i.e.-Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. The registered office of HomeNet South Asia Trust is stationed in Mauritius and liaison office is in India. The objective of Trust is to improve the working and living conditions of homebased workers in countries in the South Asia region. Presently, there are 190 organizations associated with HomeNet South Asia along with 190,889 homebased workers.
The focus areas of HomeNet South Asia include :

strengthening homebased workers’ organizations and networks in South Asia;

supporting development of policy frameworks and advocacy on key issues affecting homebased workers;

supporting pilot approaches for the provision of social protection for homebased workers;

promoting fair trade practices at the national level to ensure more favourable working conditions for women homebased workers
HomeNet South Asia (HNSA) is in the process of implementing region-wide projects, which includes Sri Lanka. Accordingly, it wishes to appoint a Project Manager who will be responsible for carrying out tasks and responsibilities, as outlined below, and will report to HomeNet South Asia:

To spearhead and independently manage all activities related to project management.

To carry out activities which lead to the accomplishment of goals of the project and setting up of models, etc.

To build and lead the team required to run the different aspects of the project

To set policies in accordance with research insights and guidelines set by the HNSA
-
To interact with the producer organizations and homebased workers of Sri Lanka and ensure the maximum utilization of services on offer for their artisans
-
To report thoroughly and regularly through reports and accounting statements to the designated authorities
-
Prepare plans, programmes and other project related documents, events in coordination and consultation with HNSA
Candidates with previous experience of working in the development sector will be preferred. They should have strong leadership, marketing and strategic skills.
